Accuracy
Output is compared to reference files across common input formats. A tool is not listed if it silently corrupts metadata, clips transparency, or degrades quality beyond the expected lossy range.
Recommendations
Every tool, template, and guide on ImgKit is chosen and tested by the editorial team. No placement is sold. Criteria are documented, applied consistently, and revisited when the underlying product changes.
Image tools
Output is compared to reference files across common input formats. A tool is not listed if it silently corrupts metadata, clips transparency, or degrades quality beyond the expected lossy range.
Tools are tested in Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on both desktop and mobile. Failures specific to one browser are either fixed or noted as known limitations on the tool page.
The tool page must state whether files are processed locally in the browser or sent to a server. ImgKit does not recommend tools that send files to a server without disclosure.
Gift templates
Templates are grouped by occasion so the most relevant design surfaces first. A birthday template should not be the default for a memorial occasion.
A template must work with a range of real user-provided messages, not just the placeholder text it was designed with. Short and long messages are tested before listing.
Templates are tested with portrait, landscape, and square photos of varying quality. A template that only works with studio-quality images is labeled accordingly.
Guides and articles
A guide must answer a question real visitors ask. ImgKit does not publish guides that exist only to fill a content calendar or repeat information already covered in a better-placed article.
The guide must give the reader something they can act on: a workflow step, a clear comparison, a decision framework, or a direct answer. Vague advice is a publishing failure.
Every guide has a named author and a named editor who sign off on the structure and accuracy before publication. Both names link to their editorial profile pages.
Guides are revised when the topic changes, when a linked tool or page moves, or when a reader reports an inaccuracy. The last-updated date reflects the most recent substantive revision, not a minor copy edit.
Commercial relationships
ImgKit does not accept payment for editorial placement in tool listings, guide recommendations, or template ordering. The only commercial content on ImgKit is the paid download feature for HD gift images and the VIP Pro membership, both of which are clearly identified at the point of decision.
If that policy changes, affected pages will carry a visible disclosure label so readers can distinguish editorial choices from paid ones. The current default is no undisclosed commercial arrangement in any recommendation.
FAQ
No. ImgKit does not accept payment to recommend specific tools or templates. Featured placements reflect editorial merit, not commercial arrangements.
Templates are chosen based on occasion coverage, message flexibility, design clarity, and the ability to pair cleanly with a real user-provided photo.
Yes. Every browser-side tool is tested for accuracy, output quality, and cross-browser compatibility before it is linked from a recommendation page.
Guides are featured based on search need, practical usefulness, and completeness. The guide must answer a genuine question a visitor would have, not repeat content already covered elsewhere.
Corrections are made promptly. The article last-updated date is refreshed and the correction is logged as part of the regular editorial review cycle.
